Protect Our Beach.
Say No to the Port.
Our Mission:
We want to clearly explain why the plan by Drogheda Port, a company wholly owned by Louth County Council, to establish a deep-water port at Gormanston Beach in County Meath is entirely inappropriate on very many levels, and to seek your support by signing our petition.
The proposed development is
Not consistent with the National Development Plan to 2040
Environmentally damaging
Will destroy one of the few beaches on the Meath Coastline
Potentially destroying a valuable record of the nation’s archaeological heritage
Fraught with poor governance
Steeped in conflicts of interest at local, national and EU political level
Abusive of democratic principles
A developer led project leading inevitably to an unacceptable long-term risk to public finances.
